Katkari

Paul Gerhardt made a number of postcards of the people around the Ravi Varma press in Karli, outside Bombay, including the Katkari in Maharashtra. Some 12,000 speakers of their language are said to still survive; they were classified as a "criminal tribe," by the British, a designation lifted in 1947.
