The Bazaar, Leh
Probably one of the earliest if not the earliest postcard of Leh, capital of the former Kingdom of Ladakh. Little is known about R. E. Shorter, a photographer with offices in Sialkot, Punjab, on the route to Kashmir, and Kashmir.

The Auckland House School, Simla
Founded in 1866, this school was founded in 1866 and soon took over this former home of a Viceroy. It remains a premiere educational institution in India, and has grown to serving almost a thousand students from a few dozen in the early days.
Parsi Ladies
One of the most popular early postcards of Parsees was this arresting composite portrait by Clifton & Co. The original albumen likely dates to the late 1890s.
Souvenir of Burma
A unique postcard, I know of no other example.
Darjeeling. The Double Loop
One of the most common postcards from the Darjeeling area. The double loop offers a magnificent view of Darjeeling and Mount Everest. The toy train of Darjeeling is a major draw for tourists and connects Darjeeling to Siliguri in North Bengal.

Roman Catholic Bishops - Rangoon
An exceptionally rare postcard that makes one wonder how large a market there would have been for these well-fed gentlemen, and whether they were all really bishops – though this seems likely as there are currently 13 bishops in Myanmar.
Poplars Avenue in Kashmir
A beautiful postcard from archaeological photographer Jadu Kissen, who had an office in Srinagar or may have worked for The Archaeological Survey of India in Kashmir at some point.
Elphinstone Street, Karachi
An view of one of Karachi's major arteries. This view by Fred Bremner is probably from 1889 or the early 1890s when he first settled in the city and became one of its earliest photographers.

La Martiniere College initially consisted of a splendid eighteenth century residence, to which other structures have been added over the years.
