The Bund, Poona
An almost technicolor-blue tinted collotype. The bund or dam at Pune was one of the most postcarded views from the city. Built by Sir Jamsetjee Jeetbhoy, a Bombay philanthropist, cotton and opium merchant, it was completed in 1869.

Arhai-Din-Ka-Jhopra, Ajmere
A striking collotype published in many versions by Clifton & Co. The Arhai-Din-Ka-Jhopra was built in the 13th century by the first Muslim Sultan in India, Qutb-ud-Din Aibak, and before him by Abu Bar of Herat, Afghanistan.
Mount Road, Madras
The most important road in Chennai, now known as Anna Salai, and originally known St. Thomas Mount Road. It ran from the European settlement at Fort St. George to St. Thomas Mount where the Apostle St. Thomas ("Doubting Thomas") was killed in 72 CE.

Napier Barracks - Karachi
A rather grand postcard, with the depth-of-field of a large albumen photograph, of Karachi's oldest colonial structures, dating to 1843, named after General Charles Napier who conquered Sindh that year and became its first Governor.
Entrance to Karli Caves, Karli
The entrance to Buddhist rock-cut caves built between the 2nd century BCE through 6th century in Karli, near Lonavla, between Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra.

Technically an informational postcard, this sumptuous lithograph nonetheless expresses the confusion in Europe about Asia: the design elements around the view of the Kailash Temple in Ellora are Chinese, and the French text locates it a few hundred
